your mountain bike guide

Jo Pauly has been teaching for ten years and holds two “Brevet d’Etat” (ski and bike), the high level french qualification awarded after 5 years of training for skiing and 1 year for cycling. He has worked and ridden in numerous places all over the Alps and Pyrénées (and even in the UK!), races on the local DH cup, coaches a team of young up and coming DH racers and, on top of all that, is a qualified and experienced bike mechanic.

He’s been riding mountain bikes for 10 years and teaching biking for three. Most of all he loves finding new trails and then taking others there: ‘through biking I’ve discovered how rewarding it is to share what I love with other people. The trails in and around Eyne are all very fresh of MTB tyre tracks, technical without being hairy and they dry up very quickly, which makes them… SUPER FUN! On top of being the sunniest place in France, the 1600 meter high plateau of Cerdagne has got a pretty mellow relief which makes it great for non-chairlift assisted riding, a paradise for “all mountain” riders who want to ride off the beaten track. It’s very special and a real treat for me to share the place which brought me into mountain biking years ago, hope you’ll love it too!’
