Road Cycling in Morzine
At flowmtb HQ we are seeing more and more roadies coming to stay with us. And really it's no wonder why! The road cycling in this part of the world is fantastic. With plenty of gruelling climbs to test yourself on, and pit yourself against the world's best riders there's lots to keep you busy.
The Tour de France last came through Morzine in 2006, with a stage finish in Morzine centre after the classic Col de Joux Plane climb. Plus there's the Col de Ramaz climbed during the centenary tour in 2003 and the unrelenting Route de Avoriaz.
There are many great road cycling routes to choose from whether you're a recreational cyclist looking for a scenic tour or a racer after a testing training run. There are plenty of local races throughout the summer. You'll find details of these on our events listings.
The Morzine tourist office have produced a handy guide on road cycling. If you can't decide which rides to pick just give us a shout and we'll try to help. We both get out on our road bikes fairly often so can help you find the toughest climbs or how to ease yourself in a little more gently.
And of course, like the mountain bikers, you get to come back to freshly made cake, and a generous three course meal in the evening.
Lots of the road riders that come out decide to try mountain biking for a day or two. We have hire bikes you can take out and can help you find a route that will suit your level of off-road riding.
