Other Activities
There's plenty to do in Morzine if you want a day off the bike or have family members who aren't quite as keen as you! Just let us know if you'd like more info on any of these or help with booking.
Horse riding
There are stables in the centre of Morzine where you can book a trek or lessonfor anyone from 4 years of age.
Childrens' farm
Right next to the horse riding centre is a cute little farm which is home to a number of two and four-legged friends which children are free to feed every day.
Adventure Parks
There are several tree-top adventure parks in the area. The one in the centre of Morzine caters for younger children as well as adults, whilst the park in Les Gets is on a larger scale and provides an exciting challenge for older children and their parents.The Morzine one is down by the river near the pool and a children's playground - perfect for younger borthers and sisters.
Swimming
Morzine has a 50m outdoor-heated swimming pool, which is open from June - early September each year. There are always two lanes kept free for lane swimming, a flume and a childrens' pool. Volleyball courts, mini football field and table tennis tables are also part of the complex and included in the entrance price. With lots of space around the pool and a cafe, it's easy to while away a whole day there!
Alternatively, Lac Montriond lies just a short distance away by car or bike, and is a 2km long x 400m wide lake. There's a small swimming lake for kids, canoe hire and pony ride. It also offers opportunity for short flat walks or long hikes. Riders can end the day down at the lake and meet up with the rest of the family.
Tennis
The Leisure centre also has 10 outdoor tennis courts that can be hired out on an hourly basis or alternatively, you can go ice-skating or book scuba diving and gym sessions.
Summer luge
Situated on the Pleney, close to our chalets, this is a great activity for both kids and adults. See how fast you dare go!
Ice hockey matches
Once a week the local Ice Hockey team play a match on the ice-rink, it's a very high standard as Morzine are one of the top teams in France and great family entertainment.
Parapent
There are several Para-gliding schools in Morzine, which offer a huge range of flying experiences from introductory tandem flights up to advanced week long courses.
Canyoning
Just out of the centre of Morzine is the Nyon waterfall where, under the watchful eyes of trained guides, you will get your wet suit & helmet on, before absailing, sliding and swimming down the best canyon in the area.
White water rafting
The River Dranse, which runs through Morzine, provides a plentiful supply of water for rafting up to Grade 3 and 4 levels. A short drive takes you to one of the rafting schools that will provide all the equipment & tuition necessary for a thrilling (and wet!) afternoon.
Via-Ferrata
Avoriaz hosts a fantastic fixed Via Ferrata route. A guided session across the course will take approx 2-3 hours at a cost of around 50 euros, which inlcudes all equipment hire & your guide.
Mini-golf
There are two mini-golf courses that can be played during summer.
Golf
There are two golf courses within 15 minutes of Morzine. Firstly a 9-hole course up towards Avoriaz, where the air is so thin your ball will fly for miles, and secondly an 18-hole course at Les Gets just down the valley. Plenty of other courses are within an hour or so drive. Expect to pay £20 - £40 green fees depending on the course and time of year.
And of course, simply relaxing in the sun. Maybe on one of the loungers in the chalet garden, or with a coffee on a cafe terrace.
