Overview

Dirtgirls is now going into it's 5th summer of running girl only mtb trips out in the Alps. For 2010 we are running a riders week in August. This is for all girls who like to get out and ride, but want to have some help with technique along the way, and meet other like-minded girls.

With a mix of skills sessions and rides, as well as evenings out and other activities dirtgirls weeks are busy and fun weeks. Check out Sue Williams' article in Singletrack for a riders perspective. To come on a dirtgirls holiday you need to have experience of mountain biking, but do not need to be an expert. During the week there will be skills courses covering skills such as cornering, rocks, skids, jumps and drops, and steep sections. But most of all, we'll be riding as much as possible, with a few well placed coffee and ice cream stops.

Accommodation is in Chalet Snion, a cosy 5 bedroom chalet with a fantastic sun terrace and large leather sofa in the lounge. Oh and did we mention the sauna.....

All dirtgirls also have free use of the Morzine swimming pool, so if the riding isn't enough you can have a swim before dinner.

Minx, the website dedicated to cycle clothing for girls with attitude, will be supporting the dirtgirls weeks once again. This year Minx will not only be providing end of week prizes but is offering all 2010 dirtgirls a discount on pre-trip purchases so they can get ready to hit the trails in style!

We'll also have Bike Envy along. BikeEnvy is a new web site for female cyclists created by former SheCycles.com editor Bex Hopkins a former DH and XC mountain bike racer, with road and track racer Janet Birkmyre.

And new nail business Junkyard Angel will be in town over dirtgirls with special offers on manicures and pedicures, and end of week goodies. So you may go home with a few scrapes and bruises, but some lovely look nails too!
